Valletta Waterfront (19/07/2008) (by Kenny Steen)

As a Scot going to Malta, the last thing I would have expected was to see a fellow Scot on stage at the Jazz and Rock festival. However, the presence of the band blew me and my friends away. These guys certainly know how to put on a great show and there was no better way to spend the Saturday night than in Valletta Waterfront! Lemon Yellow Sun and Inside were among the truly brilliant performances from the night, and who could forget the all time classic "The Airport Song"! I hope when I return to the streets of Glasgow, I’ll find a poster kicking about with information of a future date!
An awesome performance!

At the Loreley (by Sandra)

Hi Ray, Lawrie, Ashley & Ali!
I have enjoyed your gig at the Loreley very much. I was a littlebit disapointet because you can’t give an addition because all bands played later.
Rodger was great too. If I could like I want i would come to Bochum again. Your voice, Ray, it catches me every time again.
We see us this year once more!

Acoustic gig in Bad Oldesloe (by Frank-Michael Brandt)

Dear Ray,
it was a good thing to listen and to see you again on that gig on Sunday, the 8th of June on Stadtfest in Bad Oldesloe. Thanks a lot for coming directly from Edinburgh, we all hope you had a nice flight back home. - Although the german football team was playing at that time at the Euro 2008, the market place was full of celebrating people, who wanted to hear you and who enjoyed your acoustic show very much. Every time you are playing it touches us so much and your voice is really incredible: Follow me follow you, Change, Sarah, The Airport Song, The Carpet Crawlers, Lemon Yellow Sun, In the Air tonight,(we swear: next time we will cry out "hold on" at our best !), Inside and so on. - What’s up, do you think, our market place is the right place for Stiltskin on Stadtfest in 2010 ? All the best to you and the band. We will see you at one of the next concerts.

Poznan 11.05.2008 (by Mariusz)

I won’t keep it inside so I have to say: What a great show! Poznan once again was privileged to witness brilliant concert of Ray Wilson and Ali Ferguson. Surprisingly, show appeared to be acoustic so Lawrie and Ashley had to spend evening on the backstage. Nevertheless, Ray "with a little help from" Ali played fantastic gig. Setlist featured highlights from Genesis, Phil Collins, Peter Gabriel, Dylan and of course form Ray and Stiltskin. The sound in the club was clear so there was no distraction in listening Rays wonderful performance. Between songs was a place for stories and jokes which created atmosphere of a pleasant and friendly evening with a great artist.

After the show we ran across Lawrie, Ali and Ashley looking for some fast dinner (hope the food wasn’t too bad ;)) We had very pleasant chat with them, Ashley told that next solo album form Ray is coming soon (one song Ray performed during the show..really enjoyed that one!) and it won’t be Stiltskin record but all the members of current Stiltskin line up played on it with Ray.can’t wait to get this record and to see the band again in Poznan. All the best, have great show in Wegorzewo and hopefully till next time in Poznan -Ania & Mariusz.

9-11.05.2008-Warszawa,Bydgoszcz,Poznań (by Monika)

To Ray, Ali, Lawrie and Ashley:
The Music i still in my head...and somewhere deep inside me. Three unforgettable evenings, three unforgettable gigs, day by day: Warszawa, Bydgoszcz, Poznań.
The atmosphere you created, especially in Poznań, great positive energy emanated from the stage, spontaneous stories, all these magical sounds.thanx for all:-)
Hope Poland is becoming your favourite country to visit - we wait here for you with unimaginable excitation every time.

See you next week in Malbork:-)

Monika
P.S.It’s a pit that Ashley and Lawrie won’t show up on stage with you this time.

She (by Sarajane)

WOW! I am totally blown away with this song.. You’ve tapped into an intense vocal delivery of this song and well, in the past 10 years you’ve really grown into your own and defined your own style of songwriting and well, and so, it just shows that you still influence me as an artist. You go boy!

Amazing (by Frank-Michael Brandt)

Dear Ray and Stiltskin Band,
what a great and amazing show we (the Brandt family) and the audience got from all of you in Landhaus Walter/Down Town Bluesclub in Hamburg last Saturday, 19th of April: 2 and 1/2 hour extraordinary music - we love it so much and want to thank you all a lot. - First time this year we saw you and Ali in January in a little town in Zarpen (where am I ?), also a great gig, almost acoustic, and now we are looking forward to see you at the 8th of June on OpenAir/Stadtfest in our hometown in Bad Oldesloe. Three shows in only six months - Wow ! We can’t stand the time waiting for you. Best whishes for the tour in Poland in May. Bye and see you in June.
Margit, Ann-Kristin, Tobias and Frank-Michael Brandt from Bad Oldesloe

Excellent gig in Cottbus (by Jan Werner)

The gig in Cottbus was very good!! Ray has got a strong an unique voice. And the atmosphere in this "club" was so intimate. The sound was great, the setlist georgeous and well chosen.
Go ahead like that!!

Es war schön! (by Csilla)

Hallo Ray,
It’s good to know that Rock ’n’ Roll is still alive. Thanks for 2,5 hours of fantastic music.
Hope to see you again in Brandenburg Pauli-Kloster!

Ray & Ali, Forli (Naima Club), Italy, 11th February 2008 (by Luca Biondi)

No words to write.
A nearly perfect concert.
This was my 4rd time.
In Milano just 7 songs and a long waiting under the outside rain, then the "Dusk day" in Oriveto with a journey of 4 hours by cars even if I had the fever, then one airplane to carry me from Milano to Rome for an one-hour only concert with me sleeping on the pavement of the airport waiting for the plane to carry me back home, and finally Forlî: the best one (with just 3 hours and half of train and 50€ of hotel).
The highest Ray’s performance I ever saw.
An incredible setlist, with a lot of surprises like the acoustic and spectacular redention of "Land of confusion" (and he played some of my favourites tracks like "Ever the reason", "The actor", "Ghost" or "Another cup of coffee" all in the same concert, so I was in heaven). Ray and Ali were really relaxed and full of energy. The small club were filled in every sit place even if, as usual here in Italy, the concert wasn’t promoted at all. I’ve filmed some songs included the moment I’ll remeber forever: Ray has dedicated "Lemon yellow sun" to me and my girlfriend Elena, asking me from the stage to marry her beacase she’s a pretty girl and I’m a lucky man.
A lot of applause and a lot of people who wanted to meet him in order to tell him thank you at the end of the 2 hours show.
Finally I had a small conversation with him. He told me that there will be a new album this year in August, a more acustic cd with the band, on the false line of the "Change" album, and tht probably he’ll come back in Italy on Spring with the band.
I’d loved to hear "Razorlight" or "The brakes are gone", the 2 new songs he played some days ago in Germany, but I’ll wait ’til august as he promised me.
So, what else ? I was in the first row, all my favourites tracks in the same concert as I wrote the setlist by myslef, the news that there’ll be a new passage in Italy and a new album in a few time, and Ray that ask me to marry my girlfriend from the stage: this has been the "next best thing" I was waiting for.

So, here’s my big thank you again to Ray and obvioulsly to Ali.

Here’s the incredible setlist:
01.Follow you follow me
02.Change
03.Sarah
04.Carpet crawlers
05.The actor
06.Lemon yellow sun
07.No son of mine
08.Shipwrecked
09.Ghost
10.Another cup of coffee
11.Another day
12.In the air tonight
13.Story about Phil Collins and Ray&rsquot; mother
14.Ever the reason
15.Entangled
16.Ripples
17.Along the way
18.Land of confusion

Mainz, 21.11.07 (by Marco)

Wow, ... what a great show again!!! I saw 3 shows with Ray in 2 years (5 since Genesis in 1998) and I can’t get enough!!! It was such a fantastic setlist in Mainz. Especially CALLING ALL STATIONS never sounded as good as there - not even in 1998 with GENESIS! Please keep it in your setlist... and add THERE MUST BE SOME OTHER WAY next time ;-)!!!
Hope to see the next show soon!

Mainz KUZ 21.11.2007 (by Holger)

Extraordinary good show, as expected. Great versions of songs from Ray Wilson, Stiltskin, Cut and Genesis songs. Ray sang absolutely great, and the band is really great too.

Great beginning featuring "She", "Space Oddity", a moving version of "Another Day", "Lemon Yellow Sun" and a heavy rock version of "Calling All Stations". Great solo acoustic set in the middle of the show (feat. "In the Air Tonight", Ray’s story on Genesis & Phil Collins, part 2, and "Not About Us"). Then going on acoustically with the band ("Follow You Follow Me"), "Change", and then my personal highlight of the show: Really the best version of "Carpet Crawlers" that I have ever heard (and without keyboards - who is Tony Banks ? Steve Hacket ?) !
The country version of the "Airport Song" was well done. Great finale featuring "Show Me The Way", "Taking Time", "Footsteps" and "Inside".
First encore "Rest in Peace" and "Ghost", second encore "Fly High\". (Hope I did not disarrange the set list.)
Everyone has their own favorites, and some will always be missing, in this concert I especially missed "Shipwrecked"...
But I was and I am still very pleased with this concert, good sound (bass a bit weak), not too loud, ca. 2 h 5 min.

It’s good to know that Rock ’n’ Roll is still alive. Thanks for more than 2 hours of fantastic music.
Hope to see you again!

Gig in Bonn at the 8th of nov - 9.11.2007 (by Jutta)

it was a pleasure again to see the band live on stage again!the harmonie in bonn is a great event place!Ray and Band played more than 2 hours live! great stuff, less genesis songs! i reconized that there were more better subtleties in performing the songs . GREAT!!!! the audience was very fanatical!

the audience in bonn is a very very great one! they let ray and band considerable feel that they like the stuff and the band!i cannot mentioned it often enogh, RAY`S VIOCE is a very very SPECIAL one!i visit concerts from other bands too but this VOICE is without exception one of the best i ever listen to!

one thing in my own subject! all the fans of ray and band can do something to make them more public! i have no webside or something else including ray and band. but i try to make them more public in sending e mail to local radio stations and so on.it is not a great expenditure but i think it will help that such a great band will become more attention! they earn to be one of the great bands too!THANKS for reading my private message too!

Bonn - Harmonie - 08.11.2007 (by Jan Schmidt)

After a trp that started in Nohfelden (Saarland) and rested in Koblenz we - me and my grilfriend arrived at 19:30 in Bonn to see Ray and Band for the felt 1000. time.

But it was just as good as the 999 times before - maybe a little bit better. Great songs, great Band, great Ray and a very good audience.

After missing Ray’s appearance at The Fringe in Scotland, I decided to dress something to sympathize with Scotland (a shirt of the Scottish Rugby Team) and it helped. Now Im a so called "friend" of Ray. Thanks for that.

Hope to see Ray and Band again very very soon. Maybe here in our part of the country.

Sands Club - 29.09.07 (by Sandra and Mike Smith)

We completed a 350 mile round trip from Essex to see Ray for the 2nd time (Bull and Gate, London was first), albeit our journey was spread over a couple of days at a local B&B in Gainsborough, Lincs. The venue (an upmarket Jazz Club) was totally different to the London pub room concert, but it was still brilliant. Ray’s acoustic part of the show was extremely enjoyable as "An audience and" is our favourite album - to date.
After seeing a few bands in huge london concert halls, I can honestly say that small venues with Ray and the band are far more enjoyable and he provides the complete experience with autographs, chat and photos after the concert.
We look forward to seeing more concerts in the UK in 2008.

Birthday-Concert in Birkenfeld, 08.09.07 (by Tanja&Manuel)

Hi Ray & Band.
This is the Organizer-Team from Birkenfeld. We will tell you that it was a pleasure to have the best voice in Music-business here in our Cityhall. We hope that you enjoyed your Birthday (How was the Cake & the Whisky?). Also we will thank you for the excellent show and so much great Songs (especially my favorite Ghost). We get so much graet feedbacks from Concert-Visitors and the local-press was fascinated from your gig and write some very good reviews. Specialy to ALI: one Reporter tell me that you play the guitar like Mark Knopfler. He’s not right, you play better ;). Finally thanks for an unforgettable evening for me and the whole Team. We see us in Bonn on 08. November. Keep on your way.
Manuel, Tanja & Achim

TOP Gig in Remscheid 06th Sept (by Manfred)

Hi Ray,
at first belated best wishes to your birthday and thank you and the guys from the band for this excellent gig in Remscheid last Thursday. It was a great show with fantastic songs, best mix of Rock and acoustic parts, good mood and a real funny story ( the telephone call with your mom! :-) ) and an addition with Bob Dylan and Bob Marley :-)... G.R.R.R.E.A.T!
I’ve seen your show third times within a period of one year and I enjoy the 4th show in Bonn in November.
Have a good time and take care

Birkenfeld, 08.09.07 (by Marco & Annika )

What a fantastic show (...again!) !!! For me it was the 4th time to see Ray live and this was definitely the best gig of all: great setlist, great audience and the location and the sound was also very good!!!
For my daughter it was the first live-concert ever - and although she was not "rocking" as she does at home to Ray’s music (shy girl ;) :D ) , she was completely amazed about this evening, too!
It would be so great to see some of the Birkenfeld-shootings on the following DVD!!!
@ Ray: I hope you enjoyed your birthday as much as we enjoyed this unforgettable evening!!!
Hope to see you in Mainz this November!!!

Free Concert, 1st Sept 2007 in Gelsenkirchen (by Thomas B.)

Thank you Ray & Band for this special evening!
It was a beautiful small concert, no rain and your great voice. Thank you for the martians light (what a great joke). Didn’t know what it was, nothing standing in the papers about it. It was the third time for me watching and listening to you in Gelsenkirchen. Hope it won’t be the last.
You have had a good sound and a wonderful setlist!

TNX (by TheMEyer)

The Team from Gelsenkirchen would like to thank you for a great evening. It was a pleasure to us that you was been our guest. It’s right we are a small location, but for one night you made it the biggest thing we could expect.

Concert in Gelsenkirchen 1st Sept 2007 (by Thomas )

Thanks Ray!
It was a very small event, but a great evening and you left a mark we will never forget.

Mad dogs edinburgh 11th & 19th Aug (by johnjo)

While mad dogs may not be the biggest venue in the world (or even Edinburgh) it is nonetheless a great place to see a wonderful gig. I attended shows on these succesive saturdays and both were truly exceptional performances the first slightly spoiled by some in the crowd talking). The shows were very different with the first being the full band and the second an acoustic set. The main difference for me was the number of genesis tracks in the acoustic set. There is no finer exponent of genesis music (yes i have seen Gabriel and was at Old Trafford for the recent Genesis concert). He performed a show stopping trick of the tale medley (entangled and ripples), carpet crawlers, follow you follow me,not about us and a suppers ready excerpt were among many highlights. Outstanding performances over the two gigs of Stiltskin tracks included ,Inside, Lemon yellow sun, change, another day, goodbye baby blue (i am always dissapointed this is not an ever present on the set list),ghost, she and the actor..and too many more to mention. i hope that Wilson is able to continue to develop both sides of his music and having seen him several times in the past two years he is continuing to develop. Personally i would like him to do an acoustic tour and a full band tour every year but i suspect the days of performing in such intimate venues will come to an end eventually. Class and performances like this will bring wilson and his band into the mainstream spotlight at some point without question.

Mad Dogs August 17th - Acoustic Night (by John Ireland)

As promised we returned for a 2nd gig at Mad Dogs and we chose the first acoustic show to contrast the full band show we saw earlier in the run.

This time it was Ray and Ali playing as a duo, apparently for the first time so Ray warned us to watch out for any mistakes (censored version). The venue was busy to say the least with standing room only filled with what at times seemed a boistorous crowd for what was a "quiet show". Ray started with "Follow You, Follow Me" and then played what I would say was a more varied selction from his career than the earlier band show we had seen. He pulled a few surprises, especially for the Genesis fans in the crowd by playing "Shipwrecked" and a medley of "Entangled/Ripples". A couple of selections from the forthcoming "Millionairhead" re-issue were also done along with Stiltskin and solo stuff which all sounded compelling even without the full band. Good humour abounded all round and Ray’s songs, stories and wisecracks entertained for nigh on 2 hours. He had us doubled up on numerous occasions especially the story of the Gay Green Guitar. Ali provided sterling support throughout the evening especially carving out some lovely melodies on 12 string. He was even given a solo vocal spot on Pink Floyd’s "Wish You Were Here" with Ray nailing the 12 string guitar part spot on.

Another hoot was the first encore of "The Airport Song" with Ali demonstrating a few country licks and then it was home again after "Ghost". "None Too Shabby" as a certain posh keyboard player may have said.

Mad Dogs August 9th (by John Ireland)

My partner and my first ever Ray Wilson gig and it won’t be our last. Ray was recommended to me by a friend who had seen him at The Yard in Rosyth recently. On that recommendation I downloaded a gig from Dime and heard enough to make me investigate further. We arrived early at the venue and opted for seats down the front while maybe not the best for optimum sound at least gave us the best view. Ray’s set will be largely familiar to those who posess "She" and the recent live Stiltskin album. There were also a few selections from, as Ray told us, the soon to be re-issued "Millionairheads" album but it is his interpretation of Genesis standards that in some respects really stood out; He really has made "Follow You, Follow Me" and "Carpet Crawlers" his own. Every song was a winner and Ray and the band were never less than excellent. Looking forward to the acoustic gig on the 17th now.

Madogs, 38A George Street, August 11th (by Andrew Swanson)

My first of Ray Wilson @ Stiltskin four gigs that I’m going to at this years Edinburgh Fringe and happy to review another great gig. Madogs is a very small venue for Ray and the band to perform, probably the smallest venue I have seen him perform in over the years at the Fringe so far. I do think he comes alive at these types of venues, its where he started afterall. The gig was a sell out as usual (standing room only) with people of all ages, clearly showing his music reaches a far wider audience than just a single age group. Too many people focus on the Genesis connection Ray has and seem to forget he is a talented song writer and solo performer in his own right that deserves far more recognition in this country.

Although I’m a long term fan of Genesis, I knew of Ray long before any connection he had with them and have been a fan of his own solo work all along. I’m glad he has decided to include only a few Genesis songs in his setlist which may have been requests? (also including In The Air Tonight by Phil Collins) and a song by David Bowie which was very well done. Rays selection of songs is always of interest to me as he has enough to choose from to fill an evening up, I have to say he is a master at performing The Carpet Crawlers.

Welcome home prodigal son (by Derek Johnson)

What a homecoming for a prodigal son. Ray and the boys of Stiltskin appearing at Mad Dogs after all these years.
Here’s a craftsman who can sell his soul, pour his heart out, metre out the passion, and leave you breathless!
These aren’t just songs these are chapters in an up and down life.
From early days with the heavier Stiltskin, through "interesting" days with Genesis, to finding his own style, built on lifes harsh experinces, this is Ray at his zenith.
Just listening to all his repetoire leaves you in no dount that the Calling All Stations album with Genesis was so strongly influenced by Rays talent at telling a tale, no matter how absurd.
Thank God the "G" days are over and at last he has the self belief to stand on his own two feet, supported by the current amazing Stiltskin boys, and gives it all up, no matter which gig or whatever set.
Ray, only you know what you’ve been through, but somehow, by the end of the set, the whole audience has been through it with you.
Rock on, chill out, go for it !

Bollnäs festivalen (by Peter Siuominen)

I had the honor to meet and drive mr. Wilson and the lovely ms. Tyla, during the Bollnäs festival in Sweden. The problem you have when you work on a festival, is that when you want to se an act there is so much things to do, like driving other bands to the hotel or to the festival. Like I sade to mr. Wilson when I met him backstage "I didnt see you, but I heard you". Thank you for the album you gave me, and I liked it, great songs!!
I hope that everything worked out for you, even that I did not do the driving to the airport :-))
Best regards
Peter and my red Chevy transporter

Not a review as such more of a comment. (by Lee Thomas)

Just listened to your two albums Change and The Next Best Thing, brilliant and outstanding.

I’ve been a fan of yours since you did a much under-rated job with Genesis, one of my absolute favorite bands. I loved them with both Gabriel and Collins, and I think you would have been outstanding for Genesis of the 2000’s had they continued, but sadly it wasn't to be!

However, this in turn lead me to go and see your excellent gig at the South Shields Customs House (I also seen you with Genesis at the Newcastle Arena in 1998)

At the Customs house I bought both your live albums and the new Stiltskin album. Again, brilliant!

I need to get The Mind’s Eye and The Cut album next.

As a solo artist and with Stiltskin I hope you continue to gain the recognition and success you deserve.

Take care Ray, hope you come back to playing in South Shields soon!

Wilhelmshaven, Germany, 30.06.2007 (by Carsten & Claudia)

It was really great to have Ray Wilson and band at the "Wochenende an der Jade"-festival in Wilhelmshaven! An stage direct in front of the northern sea, no rain at all (and we had hard rain the days before!)- what’s more to wish for an open-air gig!

Ray an the band were fabulous, they played nearly for two hours a lot of songs we love from The Mind’s eye, Millionairhead, Change and the new album, of course. The audience also could enjoy two acoustic Genesis songs Ray performed without the band - In the air tonight and Shipwrecked - and it was evident thay Ray’s warm and full voice is a gift to this music!

When the show was over - and the "encore", too - Ray appeared at the merchandise-table beside the stage and gave autographs to everybody very patiently. Nobody of the fans with a camera had to leave without a foto together with Ray - I think, le liked the gig an the Wilhelmhaven audience as well as they oved him and the band and this was his extra way to show it.

Thank you, Ray

the Poznan gig (21.06) (by Ola)

so it was the second Ray gig I had the pleasure of seeing, and though very different from the one he did with Stiltskin in March, it was definitely a good one. once again I was struck by how humble and normal Ray is, something I really appreciate in people. he played songs from his Solo & Acoustic album, Change, and some stuff that, as he said, has had an impact on him, by Bob Dylan or Bruce Springsteen to name but a few. I loved the stories he shared with the audience, his sense of humor, his incredible voice that can make any song sound good, and his charming smile, oh yes, he's a good looking fella ;) altogether, a great concert, i recommend! Ola

Luxembourg 16.06.2007 (by Jutta)

i saw ray wilson and band at the gig in luxembourg during the fete de la musique in dudelange.
it was a full band gig and the band played for one an hour. we were compensated for the long drive with the car through terrible weather. the gig was great.the band was very close and full of enjoying the concert.the sun came out punctual before the band started to play. good wishes : that was a great open air gig.
i could not believe that ray and band improves from one gig to another, `cause they are one of the best live bands since a lot of times . after each concert i said "this was the best one" but i must change my opinion after the next gig.
do not want to forget : the sound was very great !j see you soon!;-)

Ray Wilson in Paris (by Eric Ouaknin)

Even he had performed with Genesis in a full Bercy in front of 17 000 people, Ray should restart to convince French audience which has probably forget him. Performing in support act of Dolores O'Riordan at he nice venue "le Bataclan", was a good opportunity and Ray did very well. the responses was good in my point of view, good signs for the future Stiltskin concert on october in Paris.

light show: minimum, intimate
sound : good , maybe not loud enough

Milton Keynes 01/06/07 (by Adam Reynolds)

What a show last night at the Stables. My second time a) seeing Ray on this tour and b) going to the Stables, although the first time was in 2001 to see Nils Lofgren.

Saw the gig in London a few weeks ago but a bit too much alcohol prevented me from remembering much of it! So I ventured to Milton Keynes and I was not disappointed. Right from the first notes of Sunshine & Butterflies the band were on fine form. Highlights personally were She, Inside, Footsteps, Lemon Yellow Sun, Change.....there's far too many, they were ALL highlights!! Loved the moment where Fame was about to start and Rays amp gave up!! So we were treated to Carpet Crawlers acoustic. I thought we were going to get The Airport Song but then they almost went into Stand By Your Man!! Rays humour and stories were a joy after only hearing them on CD's. My only snag is that he didn't do Rest In Peace but with what I saw I'm not going to moan!!

Now let's see about going to Edinburgh...!!!

RAY WILSON SOLO, MILANO (ALCATRAZ), 31st MAY 2007 (by Luca Biondi)

Great and big Ray ! There were the Dolores O'Riordan concert in Milano (Italy) with Ray as support act last night. Here in Italy, very few people knows him but all had remained surprised after his acoustic concert.

He begun introducting himself with something like: "Hi, my name is Ray Wilson and I'm gonna playing few songs for you"... People really seemed to enjoy his music and a lot of persons, who saw my lips in perfect syncro with the words of his songs, asked me who was him because they wanted to starting knowing more music from this "mysterious singer"... He sung perfectly every song, it was like hearing at home his acoustic recordings on cd ! The voice was warm and deep, and Ray seemed to enjoy the concert too: audience was very warm and respectable with him, even if everyone was there for Dolores. After 7 songs (sadly only 7 songs), he left the stage with a long applause and after few seconds of silence, when he came back for taking his instruments, the audience gave hime spontaneously another warming applause. Then I run to Tyla, who was selling Ray's cds in a corner of the Alcatraz club, and I asked her if she could make my dream reality... So she sended an sms to Ray and after few minutes he came to meet me: one photo, one autograph and a small conversation.

I think he's the best artist I ever met in my life: so kind, so full of simplicity, so cordial, so pleasant. "Rockstars" are always so unpleasant because they always think that they are bigger and more important than you "ordinary and normal guy"... Ray is completely the opposite: he gave me the impression that on stage there were Ray the person and not Ray "the personality": and this is very rare in that ambient ! This makes the difference ! This is why his music comes from the inside of his soul and not inside of his bank... He said that he will come back to Italy in september (not as supporter but by himself) but he didn't know where and the correct day. Probably it will be an acoustic performance but he hopes that he will able to carry the band with him.

Probably the most excitating and greatest 5 minutes of the last 10 years of my life !

Here's the setlist:
01. Follow you follow me
02. Lemon yellow sun
03. Another day
04. Inside
05. Change
06. Sarah
07. Goodbye baby blue

Thank you Ray.
We'll see in September.

The eXchange, 25th May 2007 (by Andrew Swanson)

I have seen Ray Wilson many times before, usually at smaller venues which I guess you would class as "in more intimate surroundings". This time round was a slightly bigger venue, the eXchange in Edinburgh. First up as support for Ray Wilson & Stiltskin was Stillife which I had not seen live before - they got the evening off to a good start for the people who were there and did a selecion of their songs - the lead guitarist is truly a great player.

9pm came and Ray, Ali, Lawrie and Ash came on stage, the set list was made up mostly of Rays own solo work, Millionairhead, Cut, and the most recent excellent Stiltskin album - two/ three Genesis songs were played which was unusual for one of Rays shows but to be honest his own catalogue of work is now at a point where he has far more interesting songs to play than some Genesis songs (although he does play them very well) even though I'm a long term fan of Genesis and its nice to hear some of those songs they were not missed on the night. This concert was a much more rockier feel to it then previous concerts of his I have been at and it was a big plus in my book. Ray and the band will be back for the Edinburgh Festival again this year and I for one will be booking my seats early, I believe he is also playing a couple of acoustic evenings so it will be good to go to at least a couple of the shows to get the overall feeling. Roll on August - see you all there!!!!

Bull and Gate London 2007 (by David Milton)

It was Brilliant Ray Wilson and the band did not put a foot wrong!I bought the cd and my particular favourites is SHE and FAME!What i know now is that Ray Wilson can play LIVE!!!FAB!!Looking forward to seeing him play with Dolores O`Riorden at KOKO!!!

Ray Wilson & Band Barfly Setlist 2007 (by Richard Coppola)

Well what can I say about Ray Wilson that nobody else already has who have seen him live, not a lot probably, except
Thank you Ray, this is the best show I have seen in the last 4 years and on par with that (Ok I am a big Gabriel fan, but even at that I don't think he could do as good as a one man solo set...or anybody else for that matter)

Over the last few years Ray's music has grown to the stage where is is a total injustice he should not be in the UK top 10 album charts, playing and selling out venues that hold far greater numbers than what he has been playing on this UK tour by at least ten

In a world of manufacturered bands, here we have a man who does it his own way, performs it his way, who does not care two hoots about selling out just to make a quick buck.

With the recent release of Stilskin Live in Bonn 2006 He has astounded people with this live concert And it has has opened a few peoples ears just how good he is live on stage, And I do know a few people who have/are now attending his UK tour due to this release. and ones who have been there over the last few weeks are now trying to get to other dates.

Which brings me to the Barfly, This venue I must admit is one of the strangest venues I have ever been in, but then again not often you have two bands playing the same venue at the same time, One in the upstairs venue and the other in the basement venue The basement venue Ray & Band played was the better of the two

It was apparent at the soundcheck that there were going to be some problems due to both acts being on the same time. And they were some Zombie band that were loud to the point of the only word i could make out sounded like Aaahwaaaaah

So to solve this some changes were made
1st Ray did not go on stage till 9.30pm this meant upstairs band would be off stage during his show
2nd The louder songs first and more acoustic numbers left until later in the set
3rd Some changes to sound.

All I can say about the set he performed was a assortment of songs he has recorded and available on CDs throughout his career

My only regret is that a lot of new fans nowadays have not had the chance to actually listen to Millionairehead, Cut album And some I have talked to said he played new numbers they did not know they were actually from that album This set featured a welcome return live on UK stage in the of Hey Hey, Jigsaw and his version of Space Oddity (along with other usual songs from Millionairehead (Gypsy/Ghost/Another Day)

The venue was pretty packed, I do not know how many this venues holds but it was pretty packed from the opening notes of She everyone just knew this was going to be one hell of a show, So the band played and they delivered. I reckon next time Ray plays Glasgow, I doubt there would be many people missing him playing, who attended this show. They just loved it and the applause they got for every song showed that.

A few Genesis numbers appeared in the set two from his CAS days and two songs he has released on his solo live cd\'s

Musically I very rarely have seen a five man band play as good as what Ray & Band did, consisting only of Himself,Lawrie Macmillan, Ashley MacMillan and Ali Ferguson

They work together as a team who are so tight musically there is no hardly room for improvement in my book But in saying that Ray still tries, he has made arrangement changes to songs on each tour (and album releases), and has got to the stage where apart from his studio versions of old songs even the live performances are vast improvements.

So they wandered on stage to a quite good applause from the Audience which is not bad for Glasgow Not a word was said from the Band and they went straight into a roaring version of She. this was greeted with an applause I can only describe as a local football team winning the cup final. I have not heard this sort of applause in any Scottish venue I have seen him play, and some other countries where I have seen videos I dont think a third of the audience knew what had hit them,

As some will know Ray likes to tell stories on stage, but due to the other band the stories were chopped down a bit, he just kept belting out the songs and everybody loved it They came on stage they played glasgow and they conquered

I look forward to next weeks show in Edinburgh let hope we can match the applause :)

I eagerly await the exact dates of the eight shows he had announced last week in Glasgow for the Edinburgh Festival in August 2007, At Madogs a venue he played a few years back which was recorded for his excellent Unplugged CD I have seen a lot of artists in my time and Ray beats a lot of them hands down. No fancy gadgets to astounish,or distract from things

He is just being himself and giving his all And after people see his live show they realise he gives his all, regardless of venue, attendance or how much he is being paid (and I can tell you I don't know how much he was paid, but it aint enough but £9 for a Barfly ticket, god that was the bargain of the century)

What I can say to you all is it aint too late for UK shows If think the live CD sounds good you aint heard nothing yet. or seen nothing yet until you see him live

Here was the setlist that Ray played in Glasgow
She
Space Oddity
Another Day
Lemon Yellow Sun
Adolescent Breakdown
Carpet Crawlers
Jigsaw
Taking Time
Constantly Reminded
Fly High
Follow You Follow Me
Change
Goodbye Baby Blue
Hey Hey
Sarah
Gypsy
Ghost
Sunshine & Butterflies
Footsteps
Inside
Encore
----------
Shipwrecked
Not About Us
Alone
Beach
The Airport Song

I am not to good at reviews, but the setlist might be of interest Out of that lot there was only one, I aint too keen on...and that is Follow You Follow Me but then again he did not write that :)

Acoustic solo gig, Radio Gdansk, Poland 26.03.2007

Thanks to Pawel Lucinski, Mr. Wilson gave a short solo gig after a press conference at the Radio Gdansk, Poland on Monday, 26th of April 2007.
The conference was rather predictable with questions about the You-Know-Which Band, future plans etc. Inspired by all this, Ray took a guitar and started with the newish Lemon Yellow Sun, the core of his person and art. The poppier side of the man followed with Change, written about the ex-friends of said band (to whom Mr. Ray seems to be slightly unjustly ungrateful, I gather), and Sweet Sara. (That, Agnieszka, despite the disguise, is definitely a song about his wife Tyla and cannot be not.) An immense applause inspired our singer/guitarist to do an encore which was Ghost. Very good at mindreading I must say as it was on my secret request list. In short, nice stuff, nice man, everyone should wish to be at a gathering like this, like I was. Thank you, Piotr Kaczkowski and Pawel.

Hamburg ,March 30

Hi Ray and Band, is was a fantastic concert in HH. Thank you for that. Hope I see you again in Hamburg! Ray ,you are very nice. My best wishes for you.
Corinna

come back to Sopot!

The gig in Sopot - great! Not to mention the simple (in the most positive sence!) character of Ray... It was incredible, how he could get in contact with the public just by ordinary speech. And a kiss from me to Maria :* I believe everybody, who's been there is looking forward to seeing Ray & Co again in the summer, just as promised from stage:) Dear Mr Manager - get Ray and the band once again here!

Concert Gymnich Castle

Hi there,
It's already been 2 weeks since the concert at Schloss Gymnich, Germany. It's been one of the best experiences I ever had, even though the guys with the VIP tickets in the first rows somehow spoilt the atmosphere at the beginning by turning up late. But what we heard then was absolutely marvelous. And, even better, my daughters who I brought with me (both 20 years old) and who usually listen to a different kind of music were absolutely enthusiastic about the concert, too.
After the show Ray signed CDs. I had mine signed too, but was too shy to tell Ray what I wanted him to tell: Thank you for your music - it picks me up when I feel down, carries me through the day and also gives me food for thought. Keep on rockin', Ray, and never stop.

Concert in Bydgoszcz - Poland

Thank you so much for the concert in Bydgoszcz. Concert was beautiful!!!

the gig in Poznan (25 march)

I just got back and am SO excited! The concert was absolutely fantastic, such incredible energy combined with beautiful simplicity. The guys are really humble and normal, in the best sense of the word. I was hoping to hear a couple of Ray's anecdotes and get a sample of his delightful sense of humor, and wasn't disappointed. They played for about 2 h at least, some new Stiltskin stuff, which was surprisingly good (haven't heard it until today), and some of all of Ray's fans' favorites from his Genesis times and his solo albums. I loved the fact that he said he wrote the "Gypsy" song (which i love), after being impacted by Jeff Buckley's "Grace" album, which is also beautiful.
Altogether, an amazing gig, SO worth suffering through the two awful and one acceptable support band beforehand. The whole experience was completed by getting a kiss on the cheek from Ray after the gig (i only asked for a handshake!). Incredible, go see.

Popkantine Mannheim - 20th of march 2007

Front Row!! AMAZING !!
you've done a great job in an almost private atmosphere ;-) it was a fantastic evening and the fact, that you played my favourite song 'not about us' made that great evening unforgetable ... Thank you (I hoped to get the chance to pick up your guitar pick - but as a real 'Scottish' you kept it *lol* ...)
Hope to see you again soon in Mannheim - or perhaps Karlsruhe ...
All the best and many sold out concerts,
Manuela

Pop Kantine/Radio Regenbogen/20-03-07/Mannheim

Hello Ray Wilson & Band,
the unplugged show on tuesday was fantastic! Especially the performance of ALONE and my favorite song GHOST.
Ali was great! The band was Great!
I can´t believe that you remember on LANDSTUHL - it was a pleasure for me!(we spoken together after the concert during you sign autographs)So many people you meet every day and you remember on the bottles of wine and also on me...
I hope to see you in LANDSTUHL again, because my friend who organized the last Open Air would like to do this again later in 2007 or 2008!
The new Live CD from Bonn/Harmonie is very good i´m gladly waiting for the DVD!
Keep on your way - not so much genesis as your own music!
Manuel

Concert in Plaue 16th of March

It's been a fantastic party at the Kneipe Pur-again!
The concept of doing an acoustic solo set before bringing out the band worked great. While Neil Youngs electric efforts never really turned me on,this evening just felt "complete". They played a nice mix of original material and stuff from Genesis and songs from the new album "She".The 2 1/2 hour show was rounded off by three encores.Wow!
The house was so crowded that I'm afraid those intimate club concerts will be a thing of the past soon(good for Ray though...)
greets
Frank

Concert at the Blues Garage

Hello Ray and Band, last night, I was at your concert at Henry's Blues Garage and it was absolutely amazing.

Startig up with some accustic songs (including some of Genesis' greatest hits) you highered the level with each song following. I like this great mix of accoustic and hard rock songs (also the new Stiltskin ones), it shows, that you have a very wide spectrum within your songs and so everybody watching your gigs gets what he or she likes (even more hard or more soft). Your band was also brilliant, giving to each song an additional feeling of gooseflesh.

Please make sure, you come back to the Blues Garage and I will surely be back to.

PS: I saw almost 4 cameras on the first floor of the Blues Garage. Did you make a DVD or something like this out of this gig? If yes, I would be the first one to buy it... ;-)

Thanks

Thanks for a wonderful evening in Gymnich.
To be honest, I had no idea what to expect. My best friend has invited me for the concert, due to my vacation in Germany and I said "Yes".
And heck, I'm glad I did :)
I was first a bit surprised to see such a small room and was afraid that the sound wouldn't be too good and it would be too warm.
Well, it was warm (and yes, I felt sorry for you guys), but the sound was good.
Too bad that at the time the people finally loosened up a bit, the concert was over, but one has to stop when it's Best, no? ;)
I hope that one day I can see you guys again, the chances are slim, but you never know.
I just could bite my behind that I didn't buy your CDs that evening.
Enough said, thanks again and have a great tour, Nicole!

Concert in Gymnich

Hi Ray and Band,
have enjoyed the concert at "Schloss Gymnich" very much. You have played the most of my favorite songs from you. But it has had a nice atmosphere although I like dancing and also standing. All your concerts have had another atmosphere.
I have fetched a card with gigs from you in March. There is a concert in Mannheim datet, too. This concert isn´t at your webside? Why? Have a nice tour with more "sold out-concerts"!!!

Dear Ray

i wason a cocert in germany! it was in uslar! you know? it was great! my question to you is: when is your next concert in uslar! pls write back!!
Your alex from germany

schloss gymnich 13/3/07

just coming back from your concert in gymnich. i do not want to say it again , but it is a MUST!the gig as great as the day before in verviers.i have had he fear that it will be boring to visit a concert of one band on two days running. but it was a mistake.the show in gymnich had been a very different show like the one in verviers. other songs and acoustically performance.
YOU can visit more than one concert of ray wilson and band and it will be diffent. it is not like the "great one's " who plays the same songs at every gig on the tour.the band is fantastic ;-)! thanks again for the nice evening, jutta

Concert in Ehrwald

Hello Ray, I really enjoyed Your concert in Ehrwald last saturday. I felt it would become a highlight from the moment You entered the venue, took a look at the PA-system and said: " is RAMMSTEIN playin here tonight?" We would not have set up a system like this for RAMMSTEIN, we would have taken some lower equipment.By the way.. Your sound-engineer Frank is doing a really good job for You. See You soon in Zwickau and keep on enjoing Your tour.
kind regards
Sven

verviers 12/3/07

hi ray and band,

THANKS for the nice evening!!!!!!!!!!

berlin knaack club

hi ray, thanx for an awesome solo club gig in knaack. i've seen both your recent concerts in berlin and I've to admit that before i only knew you from the "calling all stations album". But i like your own stuff i even better!!! you're songs reduced to guitar and vocal really touched a way I've not felt at many concerts before. When you come again, i'll definitively be there too. thanx for signing my cd, by the way. greetings, timo

Sopot

Fantastic news that Ray Wilson & Stiltskin will play in Sopot! Amazing place with charming atmosphere and very near my hometown(actually it could be called one town - 3city;)!!!

The Soul Session in Berlin / Knaack

Hey Ray,
just like to thank you for a wonderful and gorgeous gig last night in berlin. Your music inspired me in a way I never felt for a long time. And man, you even give some spirit and soul to the fu**ing genesis-evergreens ;-) Amazing. Keep going your way. For me, it`s an honour to hear you playing. May the best will guide you.

Bye from Berlin, Dirk

Best album I have heard in 14 years

Not since The Minds Eye have I been hooked on every lyric, every riff, and every chord of an entire album. You have come SO far since that magnificent album, and hence "She" is now destined to become my most listened to album ever.

When you get all big and mainstream (which is bound to happen) don't forget your biggest fan!

SHE

Just gotta say, that I really love the new album. I\'ll hope you guys will play in Denmark some day! Keep rocking

Best Rock Album 2006

SHE ist the best rock album in 2006, and for sure one of my best cd\'s in my collection. I\'m speechless - not a single boring song, only killers in high quality. Thank you ray, for THIS songs !!!

ray in argentina

FROM GENESIS FAN

HELLO I VERY SAD GENESIS IS RAY WILSON AND RAY WILSON IS GENESIS

Carnegie Hall rocks to Ray Wilson and the band

What is music synergy ? Answer - Ray Wilson and his band. The fantastic vocals from Ray Wilson was overtured by the talented band members to create a sound that is unique, dramatic and colourful. Bass player Lawrie McMillan was outstanding in a class act.

Wroclaw, HMm..

Hi Ray,

I was on your concert in a little club in Wroclaw in Poland. I came with my man Michal to hear you singing. It was a long way to you because I live in Gdansk, far away from your gig, little 10 hours of travelling:-) From the very first moment I\'ve heard your CD Calling All Stations I felt in love with you voice. The next were The Next Best CD to me. And I hoped concert would be so great as my expectations. And..it really was! Over 3 hours of fantastic music, your voice and your faboulous speeches listened while I was cuddled to Michal.. Yes, I will come to hear you next year:-)

May be you remember that moment of writing my name on your concert CD Live? I began to spell Hanna and you have finished it. It was very nice feeling, you know?:-)

Swiss Concert

Dear Ray, it\'s such a long time ago, that you had a concert in Switzerland (Basel). When are you coming back? I allways see on your tour list only Germany and UK. Pls come and make us happy too! Tks and go on with your great music, all the best to you.

Bonn and Cologne Oct/Nov 2006

Hello Ray and Band!

Great show in Gerolstein earlier in the year - opening with a harder than normal sounding version of \"Calling All Stations\" was fantastic! As usual Ray and Co. were on top form! The new Stiltskin tracks played at the end of the evening prompted me to buy the new \"SHE CD\" (so did several friends after they listened to mine!), and what a great record this is! Must be my most played CD of 2006! So on to the shows at Bonn and Cologne; fantastic evenings and a perfect blend of Stiltskin new and old, plus many favourites from "Change", and "The Next Best Thing". I know Ray and the band gained a few new fans following those shows. So thanks Ray and lads for some great music and also for taking the time to chat and sign tickets, CDs Etc after the show. I hope your drummer wasn't too offended my suggestion that he looked like Eddie Izzard!

Keep up the good work and see you next time round!

All the best from Germany!

She

I absolutely love the album. Every song is great and no song sounds like another. After purchasing the CD, I have listened to it non-stop...it is addictive. If I were to pick my favorite song I think it is Summer Days, the solos are outstanding. I only wish you could get some air play here in the states....many of the songs would do very well. Please consider playing in the USA sometime. I\'m from the St. Louis area and there are plenty of nice sized clubs to play in...Pops and The Pageant are two spectacular clubs for a band like yours.

enough to bring a tear to your eye

I have owned SHE since its online release and still I am not bored of it, each listen uncovers something new that I\'ve never heard in music before, the emotion of Ray\'s voice is enough to cut through anyone and send a shiver down ones spine, all the songs are so meaningful and Rays voice brings that feeling to each song, personally this album has alot I can relate to, being pushed away from someone or left for someone else so I know all too well what this album is trying to convey to the listener, that in break up theres always the feeling of isolation.

All I can say to Ray is keep up the good work and bring us a new album as soon as because I can\'t get enough!

Rude awakening !!!!!!!!

Wanna go and see Ray Wilson I was asked, dunno whats he do?Was with Genesis for a while was the answer..Fair enough get me a ticket.......It was the best decision of 2006....turned up expecting a night of Genesis covers undoubtfully played well but done before....Was I wrong??Yes I was....what a fantastic night of brilliant music ranging from Stiltskin to Rays own writings and obviously some Genesis tracks played beautifully by the most talented little buggers around...After hearing Ray,s pennings such as The Actor,Alone and the fantastic Another day amongst others I realised that although spending most of my time and money on music this likeable little rascal had passed me by....no longer....keep up the great work...It will work out just as you want it to..Luv ya....and the band.....

Bonn

hi , saw you in bonn. fantastic, great.the joy you stay on stage applies the visitors. ali was great. i saw your show in gerolstein but now he increase himself, congraulation. uwe is a good player too but i think he must still find the way in the band. lawrie grows up more and more in the band. in further days he still be not notifieced, but now...!ashley is good as ever. ray i do not tink to give a comment about him. he convince with his voice and the perfomens of the songs. i by myself could reflect the message of the music.i wish the band the success they are desevered. it is a blame that such good music well not get more attention.that is the rule of our world only short lived things will get attention. this is my problem with the things that happend also in oher cases. my wish is to keep on rocking stiltskin!

She and gigs in Dudweiler and Landstuhl

Saw you live in Dudweiler and Landstuhl (Reha Westpfalz Open-air) and both times it was really great. Great mucic, great voice and great musicians within the band. During the concert in Landstuhl I bought the new Stiltskin-CD and heard it again and again and again ...

Keep on rockin\'!!!

Klaus from Großrosseln/Germany

A great evening in Augsburg (06-11-07)

All i can say is : Thanx, Ray !

After the very familiar gig at \'Harrys Ranch\' in Eichenried (2006-08-04) we enjoyed the great evening at the Spectrum-Club in Augsburg where Ray and his band played over two hours songs of the new album SHE as well as older stiltskin and solo stuff. Ray finished the evening with a medley of old genesis songs.

If you haven\'t seen Ray and the other guys from Stiltskin live up to now ... you really missed an outstanding event. Take the chance and get your tickets to see Ray live.

Argentina

Ray, your concert in Bs.As. in april 2005 was simply excellent.

You are welcome here, you should come back someday.

From the railwaystation to the church

Hi, Ray,

i have seen you in Uslar in the station and in Mühlhausen at the church. i think both are beautiful places to play. And i hope you come back to the church.

i like the powerful versions of the songs, and i like that you dont play so much from Genesis, because your own songs are great to.

What i dont understand is that Mühlhausen was sold out, because there was space for a lot of more people.

But the snow was great!!!

Greetings from Eschwege Germany

Cologne, Prime Club , 02.11.06 - FANTASTIC ! (3/11/06)

An absolutely brilliant concert gave Ray and Stiltskin in Cologne. The sounding like rock interpretations of various, older songs as for example "Sarah" or also the songs of the new Stiltskin album were unique. The fantastic mood with Ray and his Band which slopped over to the fans and left nobody cold. Ray pulled the audience with his nice stories between the songs in his spell and brought the fans to the cheers with the songs "Footsteps" and "Inside". I'm so sad, that this evening was so fast over, but there is hopefully a quick reunion with Ray and his boys.

Lovely greetings to all ;-)

Ray and Stiltskin at Prime Club, Cologne (3/11/06)

Hello Ray and Stiltskin!

After having visited several solo concerts at Plauen, Pirna and Stendal I went more than 500 km this time to see Stiltskin live on stage.

I was really looking forward to see the Ray Wilson and Stiltskin concert in Cologne because I was listening to the SHE album since April. And I like it so much that I have to sing all the songs when I listen to the CD, although a lot of people are wondering when they see me singing very loudly in my car...:-)

The Cologne gig was great. Like every time I loved Ray\'s rough voice. But I also enjoyed the guitars very much. It was amazing. Full of energy. I could have listenend to the songs the whole night.

Ray, keep on rockin' like this! Good luck for the rest of your tour. I hope to see you again soon in Germany. Stay tough and thanks very much for the photo!

Patricia

Chris - Ray Wilson & Stiltskin Tour 2006 @ Speicher Schwerin (20/10/2006)

This evening (19.11.2006) i went to Schwerin(Germany) with my friend John to see Ray Wilson & Stiltskin live.

Ray was at his best and all songs were performed a little bit harder as usual but that was the best stuff i've ever heard from those guys. Ray acted like he plays in your living room...very personal, very humanly and relaxed.

Surely the live gigs are more harder but that was very special.A very outstanding gig. This style was all i ever wanted to hear from him and stiltskin.

His voice was very good and strong and the sound in the little club called "Speicher" was great.

They played some new stuff from "She", some acoustic from Ray's solo and the usual great songs from Ray but like i said a little bit harder...and better.

After the gig Ray came out and gives a lot of autographs...he signed 3 cd's, 1 poster and 1 flyer for me with personal signatures.

After that Ray and i had a little conversation about the gig, the sound and so on.It was a great pleasure for me.

He took time to sign stuff for the fans, to take photos and to have a smoke together and just talk a little bit.

All in all it was a very great gig, a great croud and a very great Ray Wilson and the new Stiltskin Band.I hope they stay in this Line-Up, its the best Line-Up i think.

It sounds great with the three guitars. Much stronger and more powerful.

I saw a lot of concerts for years but that was one of the best i've ever seen. I just can say...go out, meet ray and stiltskin at a gig, have a very noice evening with very special music.

Thanks a lot for coming to Germany, hope to see you soon.

Yours Chris

Carsten - Thank You! (19/10/2006)

Hi Ray!

Thank you very much for your music! It saved a lot of my sad days! Go on with your true kind of music. I also play acoustic guitar and you inspired my playing a lot of times!

I see you in cologne!

Thank you so much that you have been in Stralsund again and for the fantastic evening. The time passed by much to fast. I've heard your new songs from "She" for the first time - they are really great!!! I hope the album will be very successful. Have all of your CD with your autograph - thanks for your kindness with your fans. Have much fun with your tour and all the best for you.

Unger Manuela - Germany Weimar Zwiebelmarkt (open air) (14/10/2006)

Hello. I'm Manu from Weimar. There I studied architecture and so its not surprising that I go to all the festivities, which we get in this town. So I went to the party with no intention. Because of two friends, we come to Stilskin with Ray Wilson. I standing in the first number of the crowd....and it was so great. I never saw this band before, but from the first time I like the music and the people, who gave the best.

Guys and you Ray, thank you for the wonderful night. I can't describe it. I like your music so very much. It was very good.

See you again real soon I hope, too. A lot of wishes.

Manu

Christian Boorman - Uruguay (11/10/2006)

Saw you in Montevideo, uruguay, last year. It was great to see the show and to have the chance knowing you in person, outside the theatre. Me and my cousin Billy, we stayed talking about your band and the genesis period.

Laurent de Saes - SHE review (5/10/2006)

SHE might be the Stiltskin comeback album, but it is also the new chapter on Ray Wilson's musical journey. If compared to Ray's previous solo efforts, SHE is certainly heavier and darker. It contains some of the heaviest guitar work I've heard in a long time. Yet, it features the same atmospheric and ethereal sound that has always made Ray's work so special.

That combination gives the album an almost progressive quality. It is not easy to define the nature of the music on this record, as it combines elements from different genres. It is accessible but it also grows on you at every listen. Personally, I think it is an extraordinary achievement, which establishes Ray Wilson as one of the most prolific and talented singer-songwriters in the world today.

Sandra - Show in Gerolstein (19/09/2006)

When I went to Rays concert in February in Aschaffenburg in Colossaal I have never thougt that I would be so crazy for a music. But it was a so wunderful show, that I decide in summer coming again.

The show in Gerolstein I enjoyed again very much and I know I will coming to the show from Ray and Stiltskin again. I know next year Stiltskin and Ray Wilson make bigger shows. I´m sure.

Continue your work you make wonderful music.

Sandra

Sue - Outstanding performance

Review: This was the first time I had heard of Ray Wilson, we went on a last minute wim to see him in Camberley, and have to say it was the best live show I have ever seen (have seen some of the greats !!) Consequently we purchased 3 of the albums on the night and have played non stop over the summer. I can't wait for some new dates to appear on his website so we can book our tickets.

I would like to thank Ray for giving us a perfect night.

See you again real soon I hope.

Sue

Martin - Edinburgh Festival

Review: Just to add that I was lucky enough to catch the penultimate show of Ray and the band at the Edinburgh Festival 2006 - best of the 3 shows I've seen of his recently, with a stonking "Games without Frontiers" an absolute "knock-out"!

Great show, guys, - thanks!

Martin

Katrin - Yesterday

Stefan Ronan- Chatham gig (UK)

Review: I've been a Ray Wilson fan for 4 years and got all his albums, and this was the first time i ever saw him. Although I loved every song he performed my favorite songs. he performed in my opinion would have to be change, Lemon yellow sun, inside and Games without fronteirs which I was so surprised to sese him perform. but did a superb version which I think he should play more often live. Then you had his great story telling which I think where ever he plays everyone loves his storys he tells. The only one thing I would of changed in his performance is got him to play "GOODBYE BABY BLUE" which he didn't do. Not only is this is a great track but the opening to this track starts with a accoustic guitar that sounds very VERY familiar to James blunts introduction to "HIGH". yet ray wilson wrote goodbye baby blue in the year 2000..........Is james blunt as talented as evertone thinks??????

Geoff Edmonds - SHE

Review: Saw the band in Weston Super Mare, fantastic performance. Then bought the album "She". Moody, heavy but quite superb, musically and vocally it is out of the top drawer. If you get chance go and see this band.

Geoff

Davie Scott - Ray at the Festival

Have just seen Ray and the band for the second time in a week. Every show I go to gets better and better, as does the material. I Have had 'SHE' on all day and it's the best thing he's done to date in my opinion. As for the gig, great singer, great songs, great musicians (all of them!) and a great performance. If you're an up and coming musician and want to see how it should be done, go and see Ray and the band.

Edith Maué - Reha open air

Review: Hi Ray,

I didn´t know you before the Reha-Open air, except for Genesis. I was suprised by the show you offered. It was the Highlight of the year for me. Thank you very much.

Jan Schmidt - Landtsuhl 05.08.2006

Review: It was the second time that me and my girlfiredn had the possibility to see Ray and his band. After the show in Dudweiler (the very old theatre \"That´s real Rock´n´Roll\") we saw this wonderful concert in the woods near Landstuhl.

First I was suprised to hear that Ray woul dplay there. But for me it is just one more sign of his enthusiam und his loving of his audience. I think not a lot of muscian had choosen to play there. Not so Ray, he an his band had given 110% of power (even if it seemd his has a cold).

In the name of my girlfriedn and me I would like to thank Ray and his band for another unbelievable and unforgetable evening.

PS.: I hope Ray enjoyed his "PAULANER" beer after the signing-session.

Joerg

Review: I´ve got the great honor to see and hear ray and his wonderful band in gerolstein and landstuhl. Both gigs were absolutely great. Ray´s powerful voice, the song collection and the great musicians around him makes every concert special and unforgettable. I hope to see ray and band again in october in bonn.

Ray, keep on going with your great talent, so you will fill the big stadiums and concert places all around europe next time.

Thank you very much.

Matthias - Landstuhl 05.08.2006

Review: hi folks and sorry for bad english, but: the message is important. and the reha open air in landstuhl, great 2 hours show by mr. ray wilson and band - lots of great genesis tunes but we prefer the wilson own tracks - fantastic live versions of "goodbye baby blue" (Wow) but also "change" and my absolute favorite track "another day" - I think ray is a musican who love's his audience, and the audience loves him! us and the friends who stayed with us means: come back soon ray! :o)

Marco - Great show in the "Spooky Woods" 05/08/2006

Review: For me the show in Landstuhl (August 5th, 2006)was the first time to see Ray after "Calling All Stations Live" in Mannheim and the "Rock Am Ring" show in 1998.

So it was something very special to see him again in such a familiar location "Deep in the Woods".

I just can say that it was a fantastic show with many surprises for me, opening with a powerfull "Calling All Stations" - really intensive, as promised on the promotion sheets and posters! And so was the whole show!

Henning Jordan - 04.08.06 in Eichenried

Review: Since yesterday on "Harrys Hoyler-Ranch" you have a lot more new fans!! The evening was fantastic. It was so amazing to hear the good old songs, but I think the big surprise is the new album "SHE" - really great!! Ray Wilson - a real touchabel star!

We hope to see you soon! Greetings from Erding! Henning und Irmi

Paul Easter - SHE

Review: Saw one of your concerts at Kings Lynn Corn Exchange and thought it was excellent. The concert was excellent and I bought the Stiltskin - She album at the concert which is brilliant.

Stuart Falconer - Calling All Stations

Review: Despite what has already been written about this album it surely must be the most under rated Genesis album. Although Phil Collins is absent on vocals and drums, Ray Wilson’s powerful vocals and drumming from Nir Zidkyahu and Nick D'Virgilio more than compensate for this. Requires more than one hearing to fully appreciate. I hope Ray will record another album with the band. Great Album!

Jutta - Burg Lissingen

Yesterday was the concert in lissingen.at first the location was very nice.a good one by the hot weather.

Ray played a lot of his own songs and that was better than every other gig i listend to.i think the time of genesis must have an end. his new album is greatfull and live are the songs much better as of the studio album.a fantastic enrichment is the new guitarist even by the new songs.when the band played "ripples" and "entangeld" everyone was looking to irvin like he concerts before , but the new man on the guitar takes his part and is was more than good, because it was an other kind of playing the song and he had made the job more than good

.i think that everyone who likes the music of ray and band must visit a concert and will be surprised how they found there style away from genesis. there own way is one of the best the music scene has to offer at the moment.also a compliment to his wife tyla who works in the background.she takes her time for all questions of the fans and this with patience and kindness.thank you!

i am waiting for the next concert because this evening cause a feeling of more.thank you!!!! and see you soon !

Jens - Bluesgarage Gig - 21/07/06

Wow - the songs of the new album makes god feelings about the Stiltskin Tour 06. Hopfully in Oktober in Hannover ??!?!

Ben - Ray and Band in gerolstein 07/20/2006

Just came back from gerolstein this night.

We did 400 km by car just (from north of France) to see and hear Ray, and man, we weren't disapointed at all !

The man and his friends delivered the goods ALL NIGHT LONG !

From genesis (powerful reddition of Calling All Stations to begin the show to name one song) to Cut, from his solo stuff to the old and new Stiltskin material, Ray gave us a look at his career in more than 2 hour.

Never expected such a powerful show. Land of Confusion rocked the country, and the Stiltskin "she" material were amazing!

It seems everyone enjoyed their time there.

Ray stayed with us for 10 or 20 mn after the show to sign autographs and chat with the fans.

I had the chance to have my ticket sign, to take a picture with the guy himself, and to shake his hand after speaking to him a few minutes. It's a dream came true for me as for many of his fans who attended this fantastic show that evening.

Thanks Ray, thanks the guys.
Keep on doing such great stuff !

Ian Whitehead - Perth Gig 19 June 2006

As a lifelong Genesis fan, I was drawn by the promise of a bit of nostalgia and as Ray was the last vocalist with the "G", it seemed a safe bet to go along. What I did NOT bank on was how good Ray and the band were OR how strong his solo material is ! I would genuinely have paid more....much more....to see the same thing and in fact have done. The quality of the music was first class, Ray was confident - unlike when I saw him in Glasgow with Genesis -and linked with the audience well. I had a great night, have now bought some of his other material and am looking forward to seeing him later next month at the Edinburgh Festival. Do youselves a favour....pay the money, get out there and see a great atrist.

Chris Adams - An audience and Ray

A few years ago i heard a song that captured my imagination. This song was called Inside. I had never heard of Stiltskin but I wanted to hear more because the singers voice was so full of emotion. I bought and fell in love with the album “Minds eye”.

The singer is, of course, Ray Wilson.

I did not know what had happened to Ray since those heady days of being number one in the UK charts that is until I heard the last Genesis album “Calling all stations”. I instantly knew the voice and bought the album.

A few more years passed and I came across the Genesis album again and rekindled my love for it. I decided it was time I found out what happened to Ray.

Now armed with more information I searched for Ray on the internet and found I had missed quite a lot of Ray’s music over the years, this was rectified immediately with the acquisition of several of Rays albums.

One of these albums was entitled “An audience and Ray”. Recorded Live in Poland the CD has, as the title suggests, Ray, an acoustic guitar and an audience.

Having had the pleasure of hearing Rays songs before and being very impressed with them I was excited about hearing how he would perform the tracks alone as it were.

I was expecting something good but this was a completely new experience for me as I found I could not stop playing the whole CD over and over again.

There are many great songs on here but there are a few that simply stand up, slap you around the face and say you have no choice but to listen!!!

“Another Day” is simply one of the best songs I have ever heard. Rays intro to the song is a description of why he wrote it and you can certainly hear the memories in the way Ray sings it. Simply superb!

The CD continues to grab you warmly. The way Ray sings every song seems to make you understand the reasons behind it’s creation, even more so in this acoustic format.

From the vivid immges brought up by the song “Beach” to the realisation in ones own mortality with “ghost” and even to the hilarity of “The Airport song”, this album shows Ray to be one of the best songwriters I have ever had the pleasure and honour to listen to.

My review biased? Probably.
High praise? Definitely.
Deserved praise? Absolutely!

Rays career may have had its ups and downs but I can honestly tell you, this is without doubt a major high!

Tom Peters - Ray in Cardiff

Saw Ray in Cardiff and I was blown away by the performance. I have to be honest and say that I had no idea what to expect but his humour and interpretaions of classic Genesis and his own material was faultless. Looking forward to more shows next year.
