„Land of Confusion“ in Acoustic Look
Mechernich-Wachendorf – Ray Wilson can rely on a fairly true fan base in the Eifel area. The former singer of “Genesis” and “Stiltskin” successfully played at Castle Satzvey several times before. This time he was on duty for Eifel-Events again. Wilson performed an acoustically emphasized thank-you-concert at Wachendorf for about 150 guests.
Musically supported by his brother Steve on guitar and Irvin Duguid on keyboards Ray Wilson performed a lot of songs from his more recent solo period. But the audience, this night pieced together of several generations, of course loved the many Genesis songs the Scot included into his program, too, and young and old were equally singing along.
In interpreting the Genesis hit “Land of Confusion” acoustically, Wilson succeeded in doing a real world premiere of this song in an acoustic look. With his constantly calm, but yet powerful and emotional way the artist treated the audience to an unforgettable musical evening with his voice, guitar and harmonica. Wilson also exhilarated his guests by addressing the audience with his special sense of humour and his spontaneous effort to order a beer with the waiters by singing an improvised ballad .
Even if the younger visitors
had certainly loved to hear Wilson’s Stiltskin hit “Inside”,
all guests went home totally pleased and to spare after two and a half hours
of music.
